Perfect if you want firm support when you sleep, our distinctive Cocoloc Futomat mattress contains three luxurious layers of the white cotton felt, with 2 supportive layers of coir fibre.
Coir is famous for its firmness, it is a coarse, short fibre extracted from the outer shell of coconuts. Bound with natural latex it is also uniquely breathable, particularly when compared to synthetic foam. This allows for improved air circulation, which helps to better regulate body temperature throughout the night for a more comfortable night’s sleep.
The gentle cotton felt cushioning cradles your body as you sleep, offers a thick loft which allows air to pass through the fibres, reducing dust and helping to remove moisture.
Covered in our clever Purotex chemical-free mattress cover, this totally unique futon-style mattress is completely fire retardant chemical free but naturally meets all the UK fire regulations. OEKO-TEX and Allergy UK accredited chemical free Purotex fabric.
Our Cocoloc Futomat is designed for solid or sprung slatted bed base.

Materials
Polyester
An exceptionally breathable fibre, polyester evaporates moisture quickly, it’s non-allergenic which makes it the perfect sleeping solution for those suffering with multiple chemical sensitives and other allergies. Polyester sometimes has a bad press because it is a man-made fibre – but polyester is incredibly strong and gives great longevity! Furthermore it has a carbon footprint of about 3.8 Kg CO2e/Kg. This is about 40% less than that of cotton. So it has a lower environmental impact and is great for the circular economy. Interestingly polyester can also be used in organic mattresses under the GOTS regulations due to its very low off-gassing properties.
Cotton
Soft and breathable, cotton is the world’s most widely used fibre. Naturally hypoallergenic and temperature regulating cotton offers superior comfort and hugs the body in the same way memory foam does, but without the nasty chemicals.
Coir
Coir is coconut fibre bound with latex. An extremely durable fibre it is the perfect material for forming a sturdy core in our Futomat. As well as being a breathable material, coir naturally adapts to the human body making it as comfortable as other natural fibres and supporting with the body’s temperature regulation.

The Vegan Cocoloc Futomat is a double-sided futon style mattress, it requires regular flipping and rotating.
It is not uncommon for dipping to appear in your Futomat where the natural fibres have been compressed. We recommend you flip and rotate weekly for the first 4 – 6 months to allow the fillings to settle evenly across the top surface.
