Delivery of our futons is free of charge.

All our futons are handmade to order in our Devon based workshop, so it does take a little bit longer to produce our items than other mass produced, machine made, off the shelf alternatives, but our super team of skilled craftspeople work really hard to get your order to you as soon as possible.

Our current delivery lead times are updated regularly, but we aim to deliver our futon mattresses within 10 - 15 working days of order.

Designed for both futon and bed frames alike, the Twin Loft Futon Mattress is a cost-effective solution for you guest room bed or three-seat futon.


Designed with occasional bed use in mind it is layered with the finest quality British wool and cotton felt with two supportive layers of breathable high density polished thread polyester offering both durability and comfort.

The gentle cotton felt cushioning cradles your body as you sleep and is highly breathable, which supports the body with temperature regulation throughout the night, keeping you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

We’ve removed all the chemicals and fire retardants from the fillings of our futon mattresses and the Twin Loft is no different.

To protect your futon mattress during bed use we recommend using a waterproof mattress protector – find out more about our natural bamboo waterproof mattress protectors.

Twin Loft Futon Materials

Materials

Wool

Our wool is sourced locally from British farms, it provides outstanding temperature control and is naturally hypoallergenic which makes it the obvious choice for a natural sleep environment.

Cotton

Soft and breathable, cotton is the world’s most widely used fibre. Naturally hypoallergenic and temperature regulating our cotton  is pesticide free, making it safe and sustainable.

Polyester

An exceptionally breathable fibre, polyester evaporates moisture quickly, it’s non-allergenic which makes it the perfect sleeping solution for those suffering with multiple chemical sensitives and other allergies. Polyester sometimes has a bad press because it is a man-made fibre – but polyester is incredibly strong and gives great longevity! Furthermore it has a carbon footprint of about 3.8 Kg CO2e/Kg. This is about 40% less than that of cotton. So it has a lower environmental impact and is great for the circular economy. Interestingly polyester can also be used in organic mattresses under the GOTS regulations due to its very low off-gassing properties.

We’ve selected fibres which promote only the most comfortable nights sleep, all our fibres are known for their clever body temperature regulating properties and will support your body to naturally keep cool in the warmer months and stay warm when it gets colder.

Cotton and wool are both known for naturally absorbing and dispersing moisture away, creating a clean dry, environment that’s resistant to dust mites and bacteria growth.

Sustainable

We source fibres which are biodegradable and 100% recyclable at the end of the life cycle of the mattress, we comply with the Stockholm Convention on recycling and each mattress is clearly labelled as such. The Twin Loft Futon is a double-sided futon mattress, it requires regular flipping and rotating. 


It is not uncommon for dipping to appear in your futon where the natural fibres have been compressed. We recommend you flip and rotate weekly for the first 4 – 6 months to allow the fillings to settle evenly across the top surface.
