We’ve had an exciting start to 2022 at Cottonsafe® Natural Mattress. A few months ago Mark and Elizabeth Dowen, the founders of the company, took the decision to make the very most of their golden years and decided it was time to take the leap into retirement. Mark was keen to ensure Cottonsafe® remained a leader of the chemical-free bed mattress industry, and so approached the company’s Production Manager, Jamie, to discuss the opportunity of taking over the business. Cottonsafe® Natural mattresses are the world's first completely chemical free hotel and contract mattresses. Not only do we make them chemical free, but only natural fibres are used.
At Cottonsafe® we don't treat any of our products with PFAS. In fact we do not treat any products with any chemical treatments at all, including highly fluorinated chemicals. Not now, not ever. We are proud to be Stockholm Convention Compliant and are determined to lead the industry to a safer, honest and more eco-conscious future.
Many mattress manufacturers now offer so called vegan foam or natural ‘plant based’ vegan mattresses. Be aware: whilst they may not contain animal products such as wool, manufacturers can use glues from animal derivatives.
