How to size a mattress

The UK standard sizes for mattresses and bed bases is different from the EU or US sizes. Our mattresses are standard UK sizes however we also can offer some EU sizes (i.e. suitable for IKEA beds).

When buying a mattress for an existing bed, cot or crib it is essential to carefully measure the bed to make sure it is a standard size. If you need a different size or need further sizing advice, please call us on 01395 239832.

The following is our standard adult mattress size guide which cover mattresses, toppers, beds and bed bases:

Zip and Link Mattress – 2 x 90cm x 200cm (3’ x 6’6”)

Usually mattresses come in one piece, but for SuperKing mattresses we can split the mattress into two sections. The two halves can then be zipped together at the hems on the top and bottom of each half. The advantages of this are that each mattress is easier to manoeuvre, it is possible to have two different mattresses tensions for personal preferences, and it is still possible to use them for separate single beds should they require.

How we measure the depth of our mattresses

The mattress depths stated on our website are approximate and are measured from where the mattress meets the slated base to the very top surface at their fullest point. This is the depth you will need when measuring for the appropriate bed sheets. If you have any queries on our sizing, contact our team on 01392 239832.
