The Totnes Mattress – Naturally Supportive, Non-Sprung Comfort
The Totnes is our first mattress made entirely from natural fillings and is completely metal-free, springless, and chemical-free. Layers of coir fibre and latex create our firmest mattress, providing exceptional support while forming a flat, comfortable sleeping surface. Paired with Organic British wool, the Totnes mattress is incredibly breathable, helping regulate your body temperature for restorative sleep all year round.
Wool brings its many natural benefits: it draws away moisture to keep you cool in summer, insulates when it’s cold, bounces back naturally for long-lasting comfort, and is non-allergenic and naturally fire-retardant. Its natural lanolin may bring a gentle aroma at first, which fades over time.
Like all our mattresses, the Totnes is completely free from chemicals, fire retardants, and spray adhesives. Using our patented Cottonsafe® fabric, it exceeds all UK fire safety regulations for domestic and contract use.
If you prefer a firm mattress with a flat sleeping surface, the Totnes is the perfect choice—handcrafted in Devon with care, using natural, sustainable materials designed to support your sleep naturally.

Materials
Latex
Our natural latex is harvested from the sap of rubber trees, a renewable resource that offers long-lasting resilience and comfort.
Latex is naturally breathable, helping regulate temperature throughout the night, and its open-cell structure wicks away moisture for a cool, dry sleep. Naturally hypoallergenic and resistant to dust mites and mould, it’s ideal for those with allergies or sensitive skin.
Sustainably sourced and chemical-free, natural latex is not only good for your sleep but also better for the planet. Its durability ensures a mattress that will perform for many years.
Cotton
Soft and breathable, cotton is the world’s most widely used natural fibre. Naturally hypoallergenic and temperature-regulating, the organic cotton in our patented Cottonsafe® cover provides comfort, durability, and peace of mind—all while meeting the highest safety standards.
Coir
Coir is the durable fibre extracted from coconut husks, a 100% natural and renewable material. Its firm, resilient structure provides excellent support while forming a stable, flat sleeping surface that complements other natural fillings like wool and latex.
Coir is naturally breathable and moisture-wicking, helping to regulate temperature and keep your mattress fresh and comfortable all night. It’s naturally hypoallergenic, resistant to dust mites, and completely chemical-free, making it ideal for a healthy, restorative sleep environment.
Organic British Wool

Product Care
The Totnes mattresses is a double-sided mattress, it requires regular flipping and rotating.
It is not uncommon for a small amount of dipping to appear in your mattress or topper where the natural fibres have been compressed . We recommend you flip and rotate your new mattress weekly for the first 4 – 6 months to allow the fillings to settle evenly across the top surface.
